Enjoying one of the finest views in the world, Helonaki
(in Greek "little tortoise") is beautifully set amongst olive groves on
the steep hillside behind the village of Periyiali.
Whether taking breakfast on a
sunny terrace, lounging on a sunbed or enjoying early evening cocktails at
the pool bar, the activity on the Ionian Sea below is a delightful companion.
At night, the twinkling lights of villages in the distance and the colour-change
lighting in the pool create a most romantic setting.
The
south facing sun terrace has an invisible edge pool with swim up bar. The
stone courtyard to the side of the house with open views of the sea has a
bespoke tented dining pavilion.
There are shady seating areas under olive trees and in the organic
vegetable and herb garden (from which guests can help themselves) is a 'stone armchair', a favourite 'book nook'.
The kitchen is fully equipped but on the other hand you
might want to explore the island's cuisine.
The nearest beach -Pefko (Pinewood) Beach- is directly below the villa and
has two watersports jetties and 3 restaurants including the excellent
"Pinewood"
There are also a good range of restaurants and traditional Greek tavernas within 5/10 minutes drive so the
choice is yours. Subject to availability, private catering arrangements
can also be made.
There are 2 becdrooms, 1 double and 1 twin, both ensuite
with views of the sea so Helonaki is equally practical for those with
older children as well as 2 couples.
Those requiring extra accommodation for relatives, friends or staff can add the separate garden suite on the terrace below
the pool.
